King Henry VIII was one of the most enigmatic and colourful figures in English history. He was the second monarch of the House of Tudor reigning from 21st April 1509 until the 28th January 1547.

Bronté Porcelain have chosen to mark the 500th year anniversary of his accession with a very special candle extinguisher. Using inspiration from Holbein and Eworth’s classic paintings and extensive research into the king’s costume the piece is exceptionally sculpted in high detail.

It is decorated entirely by hand emulating the strong colours of his garments. After each of four applications of colour the piece is fired at 800°C, the final one to include 23 carat gold to define the jewellery he is wearing.
