This extinguisher is based on the Ditchley Portrait which is probably the best known painting of Queen Elizabeth I.
The gown worn by Queen Elizabeth I in the painting is extremely typical of her own sense of fashion and the way she used it to show her authority. Particular details are the elongated heavily boned bodice, padded sleeves and loose hanging sleeves together with the wheel shaped farthingale skirt. The rose pinned to her ruff represents the House of Tudor.
The candle extinguisher is released in a strict limited edition of only 100 to mark the 450th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth I in 2008.
