Catherine of Aragon

Catherine was a Spanish princess and daughter of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. She was the first wife of Henry VIII and mother of Mary I. Henry's desire to divorce Catherine was one of the complex factors which contributed to the English Reformation.

She wears a gown with delicately embroidered padded sleeves typical of the period as well as the famous Gabled Hood seen often in contemporary portraits of the time.
