Flora and fauna – flowers and wildlife – have been used to decorate porcelain ever since it was first invented in the Far East many centuries ago. In Europe, in particular, studies of fruit, flowers and animals have appeared on china products almost since the secret of porcelain was unlocked by pioneers such as Worcester’s Dr John Wall. Here at Bronte Porcelain we are proud to continue that tradition with our collection of homeware featuring animals and birds, on a range of vases, bowls and platters. In common with our floral range, the basis of the wildlife collection is formed by the Hanley Vase and Elmley Bowl, whose contrasting shapes offer our artists two very different canvases on which to create their artworks.
Whether you or a loved one has a favourite animal or bird, or whether you are looking for a design to suit your décor, there is sure to be something in our wildlife range that appeals to you, from the misty tranquillity of the Highland Cattle to the vivid colours of the Kingfishers and Macaws. Or, if there is a species that isn’t included in the collection, you may even want to consider commissioning a new design; there’s more on the commissioning process here.
Remember, too, that we offer to add a personal inscription of your choice, hand-painted on to the base by the artist, on any of the items in this collection, all of which come complete with a hand-made, silk-lined presentation box and, in the case of most of the vases, a specially designed wooden plinth.
