This miniature plaque is cast in fine bone china and hand painted to the dome with an image of Admiral Nelson(1758-1805). Horatio Nelson was promoted to Rear Admiral of the Blue after the Battle of Cape St. Vincent in 1797. Admiral Nelson’s most significant victories were at the Battle of the Nile in 1798 where Napoleon’s larger fleet was destroyed and the Battle of Trafalgar where 22 of 33 French and Spanish ships were lost whilst none of the 27 British ships were sank. The plaque is mounted in a brass frame and felt backing taking the maximum dimensions to 100mm tall and 65mm wide. It is presented in a silk lined box.
