Whether you are looking for a single vase or a pair of vases, if you are a game shooting enthusiast or if you simply love the unique, jaunty colours of the common pheasant, this vase is sure to interest you.
Just like our Pheasant and Hen Vase I (for more details see here), this beautiful piece of ceramic art depicts a multi-coloured pheasant cock beside his much plainer hen, but in this instance the composition has the bird facing to the right, making this the perfect pair for our other Pheasant Vase, in which the pheasant is facing to the left. That said, however, either vase would make a tremendous statement in its own right.
Using the elegant cylindrical Hanley Vase, cast in fine bone china and standing an imposing 255mm (10 inches high), our artist sketches in the impressionistic landscape in which the pair of pheasants stand, before gradually building up the detail and intensity of colour of the birds themselves with several applications of pigment, each one requiring a firing in the kiln to seal the colour permanently into place, so that it will never fade. If you zoom in on the detailed image of the vase you will see for yourself the amazing detail that is achieved.
A band of 22 carat gold is finally applied to the rim of the vase, and we can also arrange to add a personalised inscription to the base of the piece. The vase comes complete with a hand-made mahogany display stand and is presented in a silk-lined box.
