The Red Panda's

Distantly related to the larger, better-known giant panda, the red panda is a solitary creature found in the mountains of Nepal, and central China. These animals spend most of their lives in trees where they sleep aloft. When foraging, they are most active at night as well as in the gloaming hours of dusk and dawn. Their natural space is shrinking and as a species they are endangered.

The sculptor Nick Bibby spent many hours studying the Red Panda's from life at a well known zoological park in Gloucestershire where they can be seen using their ringed tails as wraparound blankets. The piece itself was entirely made from hand decorated bone china right down to the delicately constructed Bamboo stems and flora that decorate the stylishly formed base.
