The Owl and the Pussycat Collection

Based on the 1871 nonsense poem by Victorian eccentric humourist and artist Edward Lear the collection consists of two character candle extinguishers and a boat display piece.

The Owl and the Pussycat are dressed as commedia d'arte characters Harlequin and Columbine who were also lovers adding a clever twist. Using special colours developed using silver to appear as if the moonlight is reflecting on them, this highly decorative and theatrical collection expresses creative design and numerous hand skills to ensure it is of museum quality.
