Florence Nightingale

Florence Nightingale is most well known for her work, passion and drive in pioneering modern nursing particularly in hygiene and sanitation during the Crimean war.

Known as ''The Lady of the Lamp'' the candle extinguisher depicts this great icon wearing a specific day dress that she often wore. The lamp researched at the Florence Nightingale Museum at St Thomas's Hospital in London in London (which this piece has been madein conjunction with) is based on the Turkish lamp that she actually used.
