Joining Royal Worcester straight from school, Paul was trained in ceramic painting by some of Worcestershire’s leading artists including Jack Freeman and Ted Townsend. He subsequently worked for a number of other ceramic manufacturers, where he concentrated on painting animal sculptures, before returning to Royal Worcester and specialising in painted fruit.
As well as painting, Paul worked as the training supervisor for new painters, and travelled internationally to demonstrate the fine skills of ceramic hand painting. Following the closure of Royal Worcester’s factory in Worcester in 2009 Paul continued the Worcestershire tradition of beautiful ceramic hand-painting and is now delighted to work alongside the team of artists and craftspeople at Bronte Porcelain. Paul is a very versatile artist and enjoys the opportunity to use his full range of talents in the creation of each new design.
